This is a special report from the NUFN leaders:

As I'm sure you're now well aware, the NUFN article on Wikipedia was permanently removed on October 3rd, 2007 from the free encyclopaedia.

This is the discussion between the Wikipedia administrators right before they deleted the article:

Page does not assert notability of a possibly-fictitious(?) organization with "over 70 members." MikeVitale 16:24, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

Delete. No assertion of importance/significance. I find this article very peculiar and possibly a hoax -- Canada still uses the penny, so why is this small group of people focusing on the nickel? Also, nearly zero in the way of Google hits for the acronym; no one has found this group to be notable, it seems. So I recommend deletion unless someone can back this up with third-party citations that I couldn't find. Accounting4Taste 17:01, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

Strong and Speedy Delete If you check the edit history, you'll see the phrase "is a fictional organization" was changed to "is an organization" recently. (And "fictional" was in the original entry.) No doubt - WP:HOAX. SkerHawx 17:10, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

Unfortunately, the NUFN has in a sense "run out of strikes" with Wikipedia. The NUFN didn't even have time to dispute this wrongful deletion before it occurred.  We at the NUFN are deeply saddened that we have been labelled a hoax.

Although the NUFN maintains that we are not a hoax, we strongly recommend that you refrain from putting the NUFN back onto Wikipedia. They will almost definitely block you from visiting.

We ask that all NUFN members join in silent protest against Wikipedia. Perhaps instead of visiting Wikipedia five or six times a day, limit your number of visits to two or three times a day.

We would like to console any NUFN members who are crying right now.

The NUFN thanks you for your cooperation in this time of deep, deep sorrow.
